Cold and Flu Season: A Powerhouse, Natural Remedy

The dreaded cold and flu season is upon us. And while November isn’t historically known for high cold and flu activity, it is still considered a vulnerable time of year for the U.S. population. Many opt in to pharmaceutically driven options like the flu vaccine, OTC TheraFlu and other synthetic, drug based options to help relieve and, in potentially half of the cases, prevent symptoms. And while these solutions have the potential to relieve or prevent symptoms, they also have the potential to cause a host of other symptoms and side effects. These uncomfortable minor symptoms can be tolerated by many but when it comes to serious adverse reactions the experience is quite different.

The flu vaccine is well known to contain harmful ingredients such as thimerosal, formaldehyde, polysorbate 80, stabilizers (like MSG) and DNA from either animals or humans. While the amounts may be small they still exist in varying degrees across vaccines. Keep in mind that when opting in to receive the flu vaccine those ingredients will be injected into your body to decrease – not eliminate – your risk of contracting the virus. If you’re concerned about possible adverse reactions you can research the hundreds of thousands of reported vaccine injuries online or contact the CDC directly.

LET’S NOT IGNORE MOTHER NATURE.

So, what if you’re someone who isn’t comfortable injecting neurotoxins and metals into your body? What if you have experience taking the flu vaccine, or other medications, with severe adverse reactions? These circumstances are important to consider. And while it is also important to consider the needs of others with weaker immune systems – such as babies, seniors and those who suffer from chronic illness – we can’t ignore the exploration and consideration of similarly effective solutions to this inconvenient, yet sometimes deadly, condition.

Modern medicine has its time and place, and so does holistic medicine. Since ancient times, there have been many antibacterial sources discovered in both food and plants. Here, we focus on the power of garlic, raw honey and essential oils and explore the reasons why these products of nature offer serious immune support to so many.
